Jennifer Derrig was a jewelry designer for more than 20 years before opening Lynbrook Irish Shop with her husband, Andrew, in August 2010. The shop fulfilled a life-long dream of honoring their families’ Irish heritage. Their charming boutique, which radiates the beauty and warmth of the Emerald Isle, is a true labor of love.

Also the owner of The Irish Jewelry Company, an online business, Jennifer previously worked for a design company in Manhattan that manufactured jewelry for major retail stores. Following 9/11, she became a freelance designer. After years of living in both Franklin Square and Lynbrook with her husband and their two children, she felt it was time to give back to the community by realizing the family dream of opening a local store. Andrew grew up County Mayo, Ireland, where the Derrig’s visit frequently, to be with family, acquire authentic products and crafts, and to discover new trends.

The selection at Lynbrook Irish Shop is endless, featuring gifts, specialty items, jewelry, St. Patrick’s Day gear and more. Every piece of merchandise is high quality, and boasts a Celtic or Irish theme. What you’ll find there includes tea pots, Irish food, Irish coffee glasses, Irish wine glasses and mugs, imported wool blankets and sweaters, communion dresses and baptismal attire and gifts, and Irish dancing shoes. Among Jennifer’s personal line of Irish jewelry are Claddagh rings and shamrock pendants, Claddagh cuffs and earrings, Celtic rosary beads and communion bracelets, Tara brooches, Celtic crosses and more. Edible treats range from bangers and rashers, to Irish soda and crunchies. There are Guinness items, Irish linens, tea towels, Celtic artesian crafts, and a collection of Belleek china.

Shopping at Lynbrook Irish Store is a social, friendly experience. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Irish gift baskets in many sizes and variations are always available made to order.
