Chamber names 'Small Businessperson of the Year'

Andrew Nachamie, a commercial attorney who lives and practices law in Merrick, is the Merrick Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 “Small Businessperson of the Year.”

Nachamie is the principal of his law firm, Andrew S. Nachamie, P.C., at 7 Smith St. in downtown Merrick. The firm handles real-estate transactions, mortgages, wills and estates, and other areas of business law. He earned his law degree from the Hofstra University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Penn State.

An active community participant, Nachamie is a member of the Merrick Chamber Board of Directors, Merrick Kiwanis Club and Bellmore Little League Board of Directors, and he coaches Little League teams.

The Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce honored Nachamie and other local chambers’ “Small Businessperson of the Year” designees at a breakfast ceremony on Oct. 17 at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
