A man and woman were arrested for selling heroin on Monday in front of White Castle on Sunrise Highway, police said.

After an investigation by the Nassau County Major Case Bureau, the Lynbrook Police Department and the Hempstead Police Department, Kenneth Houston, 28, of Hempstead, was followed by police and observed selling heroin in Lynbrook with his girlfriend, Shequilla Wagner, 27, of Bay Shore.

After observing the illegal transaction, Lynbrook officers conducted a traffic stop of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu on Sunrise Highway, and arrested both Wagner and Houston at 9:30 p.m. without incident, police said.

The couples’ seven-year-old daughter was in the back seat of the car and later released to a family member. At the time of the arrest, Houston was found in possession of 30 glassine envelopes containing a substance believed to be heroin, seven, 10 mg containers of oxycodone tablets, MDMA and a plastic bag containing a leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

Houston is being charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance. Wagner is being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful dealing with a child. They were arraigned earlier today at First District Court in Hempstead.
