Police charge DWI and violation of Leandra's Law

An East Rockaway woman was arrested for Driving while Intoxicated and violating Leandra’s Law on July 12 in Rockville Centre.

According to The Nassau County Police, Rockville Centre Police received a call for an auto accident on Riverside Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered the defendant, Bianca Flores, 25 of Wilson Street, had been driving a 2013 Honda with a 6-year-old female passenger when she was involved in an auto accident at that location.

The investigation determined that Flores had left the scene of an auto accident in Lynbrook just prior to the accident in Rockville Center. She was placed under arrest without incident, and the child was released to a family member. There were no injuries reported.

Flores was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 (Leandra Law), Aggravated Unlicensed 1stt degree (DWI), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving While Intoxicated, and Leaving the scene of an Auto Accident. She was arraigned on July 13 at First District Court in Hempstead.
