RevMark makes its mark

He was known as Vito Spatafore, Sr. on the TV show “The Sopranos”, but locally he is Joe Gannascoli, from East Rockaway.

In addition to being a movie and TV star, Gannascoli, 57, is the spokesman for RevMark®, The “Quick Draw” Marker, and came to the Ace Hardware store in Island Park to promote the new line.

“A friend of mine asked me to help, and it’s such a great product,” he said. “It’s like a Sharpie marker, but the cap stays on your belt …. people in the construction business really like it.”

According to Douglas Friedman on PRWEB, the RevMark™ has a patented reverse clip cap that attaches to your belt or slides into your pocket. There is no more searching for your marker, losing your cap, putting down your project to open your marker or using your teeth to take off the cap. With one hand you can take off the cap, make your mark and slide it back in place right at your side. The pens are nationally distributed, including 25 Costello/ACE Hardware locations in New York, Long Island and New Jersey. RevMark™ is manufactured by Pen Company of America in Garwood, New Jersey.

RevMark™ is a support of Habitat for Humanity, and the pen found its way into the hands of the volunteer builders and workers of the Habitat for Humanity at several builds in Nashville, Tn., Hollywood, CA, and now Suffolk County,

Catching up with Joe

Gannascoli worked as a chef before finding fame on “The Sopranos.” (He’s the author of “A Meal to Die For: A Culinary Novel of Crime.”)

Born and raised in Brooklyn, the Italian-American attended St. Johns University for two years, majoring in communications. He then taught himself to cook and opened his Soup As Art restaurant, also in Brooklyn. As an actor and producer, he is best known for Ed Wood (1994), Men in Black 3 (2012) and The Sopranos (1999).

He also has a line of “Bottle Skinz,” which are snug-type covers for everything from a water bottle to a propane tank featuring the logo of your favorite NFL, NHL military branch or camoflague print.

Gannascoli is also currently active in a variety of movie and television roles. He said that his family also keeps him busy: His wife, Diana, is set to open a boutique, “Ask Alice,” in Oceanside next week, and his daughter, Viviana, 7, keeps him on his toes. “And I really enjoy living in East Rockaway … the new businesses, restaurants … it’s a great thing.”
