Long Island Rail Road track work on several branches, including Far Rockaway and Long Beach, will create schedule changes and reduced service on Oct. 25 and 26.

“The track work scheduled for the weekend of October 25-26 is a critical part of an ongoing effort to ensure our infrastructure remains in a state of good repair,” said LIRR President Patrick A. Nowakowski. “The reliability of the LIRR depends on it.”

For Long Beach, the Oct. 25 westbound 1:08 a.m. train from Long Beach to Jamaica will have a different Penn Station connecting train that will arrive at Penn Station at 2:12 a.m.

In Far Rockaway, the westbound 12:42 a.m. train on Oct. 25 and 26 will arrive three minutes later at all destinations. The connecting train from Jamaica will also leave three minutes later.

Also in Far Rockaway, the eastbound Oct. 25 and 26 4:05 a.m. trains will leave Penn Station at 4:05 a.m., stop in Woodside at 4:17 a.m., and connect to the train leaving Jamaica at 4:37 a.m.

The other branches affected are Hempstead, Port Jefferson, Oyster Bay, Ronkonkoma and Montauk. Full timetables are available at stations on all affected branches and the LIRR website. Timetables are also available by calling LIRR's Travel Information Center at 511 and saying: Long Island Rail Road when prompted.
