Merrick man charged with firing pellet gun at worker

Posted

A Merrick man was arrested and charged with firing a pellet gun at a worker from his window because, the suspect said, he was disturbed by the noise the worker was making from across the street, officials said.

Timothy Burzynski, 26, of Frederick Avenue, allegedly shot a 31-year-old male victim around noon on Sept. 1, according to Nassau County police. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of a pellet wound on his upper back.

In addition to the pellet gun, police recovered seven other firearms from Burzynski. He was charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday. No further information was available at press time, and the Nassau County district attorney’s office had not yet provided information about Burzynski’s attorney.
