Nassau police reported the arrest two men for a robbery that occurred on Monday, March 28 at 11:18 p.m. in Lakeview.

According to detectives, a Papa John’s Pizza deliveryman was dispatched to a Lehman Road home in Lakeview. Upon his arrival, he noticed Jermaine Jones, 21 of 8 Claremont Road standing outside the home. When the victim gave the pizza to Jones, he was approached by two male black subjects armed with a gun. Jones and the two men went through the victim’s pocket removing cash and pushed him to the ground at which time he triggered his car alarm. The subjects fled on foot westbound on Cedar Road with the pizza and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Bureau of Special Operations officers responded to the area and located a 2006 BMW parked on Clinton Avenue occupied by the driver, Ruben Sajous, 21 of 848 Richmond Road, East Meadow and Jones. During the investigation Sajous and Jones were found in possession of marijuana and Alprazolam pills and placed under arrest. Jones was identified as one of the subjects who participated in the robbery. The two additional subjects were not located.

Sajous is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree.

Jones is charged with robbery, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The crime follows a pattern of similar crimes that have been targeting food delivery workers in the area over the past several months. Malverne police arrested several men in late January who robbed and attempted to rob food deliverymen on two separate occasions in the Westwood section of the village.

Both Sajous and Jones will be arraigned Tuesday, March 29 at First District Court in Hempstead.
