O’side Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast

People come from all over the south shore, from Oceanside and Island Park, fellow Kiwanians, friends and family for the Oceanside Kiwanis Superbowl Pancake breakfast.

President Thomas Cesiro said they had a very successful fundraiser this year. “Over 500 people came this year and we raised about $7,000.”

All of the money raised goes toward sending under privileged and handicapped kids to Kamp Kiwanis, located near Utica, NY. “We send the kids to camp for free,” Cesiro said, “and supply the Kamp’s needs, like sleeping bags.”

Cesiro said the money also goes toward community activities like the Easter egg hunt, Holiday Happenings, the 53rd annual Skating Show and more.”

The Oceanside Kiwanis Club also sponsors children’s service clubs in all of the schools, Key Club in high school, Builder’s club in the middle school and six K-Kid Clubs for elementary schools.
