Pasta aplenty raises funds for charities

Posted

A spaghetti dinner that the Knights of Columbus of the Merricks held for the community on April 5 drew hundreds of Merokeans to Sacred Heart School’s cafeteria, as it has done every spring for the last 26 years. The $5 per person all-you-can-eat dinner netted about $4,400, which the Knights will donate to local charities.

Andy Marincsak, who has organized the dinner every year since 1990, said the money will go to Sacred Heart Outreach, Cure of Ars Outreach, and other charities that the Knights of Columbus select.

About 350 people were at the dinner. Volunteers also brought 50 meals to homebound residents.
