Founded in 1982 and originally focusing on respiratory services, Phoenix Medical Equipment has opened a new location in Lynbrook. Celebrating its grand opening, the company has created a beautiful showroom and fully stocked retail store.
Phoenix Medical Equipment is owned and operated by Seth Lane, RRT (president), Ed Walsh (senior VP), James Cooke, RRT (VP), and Janet Eberhardt (VP). On site are professional fitters for articles including compression stockings (medical, athletic, and for travel), diabetic and orthopedic shoes, and mastectomy products. Licensed Respiratory Therapists are available on site. Services include CPAP units, oxygen management, nebulizers, and home ventilators.
Depending on the product, items can be rented and/or purchased. Wheelchairs, homecare furnishings like hospital beds, oxygen supplies, feeding aids, lift chairs, vehicle lifts, mobility scooters, walking aids, commodes, and bath safety equipment are all available. The staff will happily work with the person’s health care professionals to find the right fit for the situation and need.
Many products can be purchased off-the-shelf. They stock incontinent products, featuring adult diapers and briefs by Prevail. Sprain your ankle or twist your knee? You can find an over-the-counter braces, supports or wraps. Viewable is a wide array of stylish diabetic shoes, sneakers and sandals, with extra room for toes and heels. Vionic stylish flip-flops, flats and sneakers are showcased with orthopedic soles.
Their maternity and newborn section features the entire line of Earth Mama Baby Angel — gentle, safe, kosher and organic products. Included are special teas (to produce more milk, less milk, or ease stress), lotions, shampoos, soaps and salves. Choose any combination of these products, and they can create a magnificent gift basket — perfect for a baby shower or a newborn event. Breast pumps and Cuties infant diapers are available too. Phoenix also has Lactation Consultants on staff.
