Pirates to parade through Bellmore

Posted

The Mepham High School community is preparing for one of its most anticipated Homecoming festivities: the afternoon parade.

As per tradition, students, teachers, administrators and community members will march in the procession before the afternoon football game on Saturday, Oct. 10. Pirate pride will be on display through the streets of Bellmore, and people are encouraged to come out and celebrate the school.

Participants will meet outside Grand Avenue Middle School, at 2301 Grand Ave., just before noon, when marchers will head east before turning left onto Newbridge Road. The procession will then continue north towards Newbridge and Camp Avenue, turn left onto Camp and end at Mepham.

Portions of each street along the route will be closed during the parade. Spectators are allowed and expected to gather near each block.

The Pirates football squad will take on the Carey Seahawks at Homecoming at 2 p.m.
