Police canvassed the area, but the man could not be found, according to police spokeswoman Maureen Roach, who added that police have “intensified patrols in the area.”

The driver of a four-door green sedan beckoned a Grand Avenue Middle School student, who was walking to school, to the car at 7:43 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, on Grand Avenue in Bellmore, according to an email that Grand Avenue Middle School Principal Carlo Conte sent to parents. The email said that the driver “appeared to be a Hispanic male in his mid-20s.” The student returned home and told his or her parents what happened. They called police and filed a report.

Finally, two teenage girls, ages 12 and 13, were walking together at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, April, 18 on Hansom Place in Roosevelt when a Hispanic man driving a gray “SUV-type vehicle” approached them, according to police. The driver reportedly asked the girls to get in the car, but they refused and walked away. He then drove one block and approached the girls again. When they continued walking, he drove away.
