Police seek public’s help

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County police are seeking the public’s help in identifying these men, above, in connection with an alleged identity theft in Woodmere.
The Woodmere resident became aware of fraudulent credit card purchases at a Flushing, Queens Target department store on Sept. 23. During a subsequent investigation, it was determined that the pictured subjects were observed on a surveillance camera making fraudulent purchases with the victim’s credit cards at the same Target.
Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who can identify the subjects, or with any information about this crime to call the toll free hotline, 1-800-244-8477.


Inwood man arrested for grand larceny

An Inwood man who allegedly used stolen money to steal money from a bank was arrested by the Nassau County Police Department’s Major Case Bureau on Nov. 18
Dean Afflick 23, opened a personal bank account on Feb. 15, 2013 at TD Bank located on Hillside Avenue in Hollis, Queens, police said. In September of last year, on multiple dates, Afflick deposited two stolen checks for more than $26,000 into his personal account. From Sept. 7-11, 2013, he withdrew funds causing a financial loss of $26,000 to TD Bank, according to police.
Police found Afflick in Inwood on concerning an unrelated charge. He was charged with grand larceny-third degree, two counts of possession of a forged instrument-second degree, and arraigned on Nov. 19 at First District Court in Hempstead.
