The Oceanside School District GO-Read Campaign wants everyone reading. Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Research Diane Provvido is implementing the program.

Highlights include:

New OHS Courses: Virtual Enterprise, Project Lead the Way, Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles, Advanced Theatre, Dance Choreography, and Child Development. 

The AP Experience - Giving AP students opportunities to create self-designed projects or internships as a way to pursue career-oriented interests

Project Extra In The Classroom - Expanding in-depth science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) experiences to 6th grade so that all students in grades 4-6 will participate in this program

Career and Technical Education - investigating alternative graduation pathways via high quality career and technical education opportunities

Creating a process for personalized education plans for OHS Castleton students

Website re-design - updating the website to conform to new technology standards

New Horizons - Expanding access to adult education programs

Camp Invention - launched this summer to provide engaging experiences in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math)

Social and emotional literacy - expanded digital literacy programs, the Anti-Defamation League “No Place for Hate” campaign, reinvigorating the anchors of the RULER program

Professional Learning - implement NT3 grant to encourage teacher-led professional learning and provide provide differentiated professional learning opportunities for our teaching staff via Teach Teams, the use of video and the Teaching Channel

Techsperts – Offering students an opportunity to develop tech trouble-shooting expertise as a way of exploring a possible career path
