Scores of East Meadow School District students have been selected to perform in the Nassau Music Educators Association All-County Festival at Long Island University Post this month.
Exactly 178 students from schools across the district were named All-County musicians by NMEA. NMEA is a dedicated group of teachers and professionals who believe in the value of a quality music education taught by qualified music educators, according to the organization’s website.
District officials said student musicians received this tremendous honor because of their strong New York State School Music Association solo evaluations and via teacher recommendations. They added that they are proud of the students’ work.
Rehearsals began on Jan. 6 and the festival runs through Jan. 17. For the full schedule of events, log on to the NMEA website.
