Strawberry Festival coming to North Bellmore

Posted

Two Bellmore charitable organizations are kicking off summer this week by hosting the always highly anticipated Nassau County Strawberry Festival.

The event, which features myriad family-friendly activities, is co-sponsored by the Bellmore Kiwanis and Lions clubs. Beginning on Thursday, the groups will welcome hundreds of people from across the region to the festival, which will be held on grounds of Jerusalem Avenue School in North Bellmore.

Festival proceeds will go to help people in need in the community and across the region. Kiwanis and Lions club volunteers will be stationed in the festival’s big red tent, selling shortcake, cheesecake, non-alcoholic daiquiris, and, of course, strawberries.

Rides and games will be provided by Blue Sky Amusements. There will also be plenty of carnival food and a craft and gift show. On Saturday, May 30, the Ultimate Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Tribute Band will perform for the crowd at 7 p.m.

Festival hours will be:

  • Thursday, May 28, 6 to 10 p.m.
  • Friday, May 29, 6 to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 30, noon to 11 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 31, noon to 6 p.m.

The Jerusalem Avenue School is at 2351 Jerusalem Ave. Directions and more information about the festival can be found at nassaucountystrawberryfestival.com
