Posted

The 11th annual Bellmore-Merrick Challenge Day brought together special-education students from across Nassau County and seniors in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District for a day of fun and games at Calhoun High School on May 20.

About 230 special-education students from 11 Nassau schools and 200 general-education students from the Central District took part in activities ranging from relays, jumping and throwing competitions and an inflatable obstacle course. Seniors in the Calhoun and Mepham High School Athletes Helping Athletes clubs were instrumental in organizing and running the Challenge, which aimed to spark friendships in a fun and supportive environment.
