TD Bank in Wantagh robbed

Police are searching for the man who robbed a bank in Wantagh on Wednesday.

According to Nassau County Police, an unknown man entered TD Bank at the corner of Sunrise Highway and Wantagh Avenue, at about 12:35 p.m. on Sept. 30. He presented a note to a teller demanding cash and stating that he had a weapon.

The teller handed over a undetermined amount of cash and the robber fled the scene on foot. He dropped the proceeds in the bank before heading west on Sunrise Highway. There was no weapon displayed, and no injuries reported to the five employees and one customer inside at the time.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30-35 years old, 6-foot, 180 pounds wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark glasses and jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
