In Lynbrook, Mayor William Hendrick will run unopposed for re-election, as will his running mates, Deputy Mayor Alan Beach and Trustee Tom Atkinson. (Both will run for the position of trustee. The deputy mayor is appointed by the board.) All will represent the New Vision Party.

Hendrick, who worked as an attorney for 25 years, was a village trustee from 1989 to 1993 and from 1995 to 2010, when he was appointed mayor. (He took over for Brian Curran when Curran was elected to the State Assembly.) Hendrick was re-elected in 2011.

Beach is a retired FDNY lieutenant who has served two four-year terms on the village board. He is the former president and founder of Lynbrook Roller Hockey, a founding member of the Lynbrook Excellence in Education Foundation and an honorary member of the village PTA.

Atkinson, an attorney, is running for his second full term as a trustee. He has acted as counsel to Christopher’s Crew, an organization that helps to fund hemophilia research; has been a Lynbrook Flag Football coach, counseled the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce from 2009 to 2011 and is a third–degree knight with the Lynbrook Knights of Columbus.

The Lynbrook village elections are also March 18.
