American Legion: 1
American Legion pitcher Steven Larkin showed a great effort his first time on the mound. But, a few walks and hits mixed with a couple of errors allowed Nissan to score six runs in the first two innings. Larkin started off the fifth inning with a single but the rally fell short. John Faust providing great relief pitching, striking out five to shut Nissan down the rest of the game.

Johansen Painting: 9
American Legion: 8
It took nine innings to determine a winner between Johansen Painting and American Legion. The pitching was unbelievable on both sides. American Legion-s Zac Gulino and Raymond Spragle pitched a gem. Gulino had ten strikeouts in six innings; Spragle had six strike outs in three innings. Johansen had a combined total of 19 strikeouts in nine innings, two for starter David Johansen , 14 in six innings for reliever Nick Russo, and ninth-inning closer David Osario fanned three in a row.
The three Painters pitchers combined to throw a two hitter, helped by nearly flawless defense, including a sparkling I got you 1-6-3 double play started by Russo and turned by John Labeck to stop a bottom of the sixth rally begun by Robbie Bogle of the American Legion after his hard base hit. Hats off to John Faust who started the Legions threat in the bottom of the seventh with the teams second, and most timely hit. The 13-hit attack for Johansen-s was led by Mike Daly (2 for 3 ), Russo (2 for 4), and Labeck (2 for 4). But the heroes for Johansen were Ryan Kavanagh (3 for 4) who tied the game in the top of the sixth with a solo home run, and Nelson Perez (2 for 4), whose solo homer to lead off the ninth proved to be the game winner. Early errors caught up with the American Legion in the ninth inning to cost them the game.
