Valley Stream students picked for Carnegie Hall series

Two North High School students were selected for a prestigious concert series that will take place at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan in February.

Sophomore Rose DioLallevi was chosen as a finalist in the honors orchestra for the 2015 High School Honors Performance Series, and senior Aaron Chiang was designated a semifinalist and alternate for the program. Both play the violin.

The students were selected through a rigorous application and audition process. DioLallevi will participate in a six-day, five-night program with other student-musicians from the U.S., Canada and select international schools. Chiang will participate if a space becomes available.

The concert series seeks to showcase talented musicians who are still in high school. An honors choir and honors instrumental ensembles are made up of accomplished students who have been individually nominated and selected.
