Verizon store clerk robbed at gunpoint in Valley Stream

Two men robbed a Verizon Wireless store on East Merrick Road on Sept. 1, according to police.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, the men — black, late teens to early 20s, wearing dark clothing — entered the store located at 60 E. Merrick Rd. at 7:40 p.m., brandished a handgun and demanded the clerk give them cell phones and cash.

The clerk complied, and the suspects fled on foot toward South Cottage Avenue, police said. There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery, and no injuries were reported to police.
