Achieving college academic honors

Woodmere resident Isabelle Clarke graduated from Roger Williams University with a bachelor’s in construction management from the Bristol, Rhode Island school in May.

Libby Berman and Devin Love, both of Hewlett, were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Lehigh University. To earn this honor, students must attain a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher in at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

Saad Ahmad and Jason Kirshner, both from Hewlett, and Tom Slavin of Woodmere earned dean’s list honors for the spring semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Ahmad is majoring in computer science, Kirshner is in the information technology program and Slavin is studying game design and development.

Richard Gauthier, of Atlantic Beach, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Connecticut. Far Rockaway resident Folorunso Fatukasi graduated from the state school in Storrs.

On May 19 and 20, Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. held its commencement andAlexandra Clarke, of Woodmere, earned a bachelor’s in public relations, and  Matthew Silverstein, from Hewlett, received a bachelor’s in management.

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ spring semester dean’s list includes Hewlett resident Brooke Mirkin, who is in the College of Continuing and Professional Studies. To qualify students must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 GPA.

Kiana Howerton, of Inwood, and Carina Kohn, from Atlantic Beach, graduated from SUNY New Paltz.

SUNY Oneonta named Hewlett resident Lexi Liebowitz, Sariana Almonte of Lawrence and Marina Bocci from Woodmere to the upstate school’s spring semester dean’s list. To qualify, a student must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have a course load of 12 hours or more.

Hewlett resident Daniel Arons, a senior public relations major, made the spring semester dean’s list at SUNY Oswego. Eligibility means having a GPA ranging from 3.3 to 3.79.
