Alleged ‘porch pirate’ arrested for North Woodmere thefts

A Queens man has been arrested in connection with four incidents of allegedly stealing items off the porches of homes in North Woodmere in November and December, Nassau County police said.

Fourth Squad detectives conducted an investigation into the “porch pirate” incidents and arrested Kurt Stewart, 18, of Rosedale, at his home on Jan. 10. Stewart is alleged to have stolen property from one residence on Gilbert Place and one on Flanders Drive on Nov. 26. Then again on Flanders Drive and one house on Nutley Place on Dec. 27.

Stewart is charged with four counts of petit larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
