Long Island Arts Council at Freeport partnered with the local microbrewery, BrewSA on the Nautical Mile for a Sunday afternoon of cold brews and adult coloring. A group of about 10 people including the Anthony Miller, the vice president of the Freeport Board of Education and Lois Howes, the president and founder of Friends of People hung out at BREWSA located on Woodcleft Avenue on the Nautical Mile. Together the group joked around and sipped on cold beers — practically welcoming the spring season.

Adult coloring has been a trending rage that has connected adults to their once favorite childhood activity. According to art therapists, coloring has calming benefits. Often compared to meditation, coloring helps to switch off the brain from other thoughts and for a brief moment alleviate anxiety.

Arts Council members clinked pints of beers and colored a number of pages from adult coloring books — all in the spirit of raising money to help continue community art programs and events for the greater Freeport community.
