Bayville Trustee Michele Principe died at 1 a.m. on Saturday. She had not been feeling well for the past 6 months, said former Bayville mayor Victoria Siegel, who was her friend.

Principe had been rushed to Glen Cove Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 30 by ambulance. Her health continued to deteriorate while she was hospitalized. "The entire time she was in the hospital it came down to waiting for a miracle," Siegel said. "It was a matter of time."

Principe died of congestive heart failure.
