Blood drive honors longtime Malverne resident

Posted

Residents gathered at the basement of Our Lady of Lourdes School in Malverne for a special blood drive on May 20. The blood drive, which was hosted by Our Lady of Lourdes Church, was in honor of Malvernite Peter Zullo — who among the many groups that he contributed to in the village — also volunteered at OLL Church, where he became a regular usher for the 11 a.m. Mass.
In addition to residents that donated blood, several of Zullo’s family members also contributed to the drive. The New York Blood Services collected 43 pints of blood from 51 people. For details on future events at OLL, call (516) 599-1269.
