Central students strut for scholarships

The Central/Memorial Parent Teacher Student Association raised more than $2,000 for scholarships and programs from its annual fashion show on May 10.

“I think it went very well,” said Chairperson Patricia Farrell. “The models were beautiful.”

More than a dozen Central High School students strutted down a runway at Pompei Ristorante in West Hempstead to show off their outfits that they either owned or bought from Kohl’s.

The models arrived early and ate dinner, then changed into their clothes, Farrell said. After they strutted down the runway, they then gave some lucky community members raffle baskets. To cheer them on, 68 community members showed up for the event at a cost of $40 per person.
