Chamber hosts an egg-citing day at Wantagh Park

The Wantagh Chamber of Commerce celebrated the blooming flower buds and warmer weather at the 26th annual Spring Fun Hunt, held on April 9 at Wantagh Park.

Local families made their way to the children’s playground to hunt for colorful, plastic eggs that chamber leaders filled with candy and sweet treats. The youngsters rushed through the gate to grab eggs, sprawled across the grass and apparatus. Neighbors socialized with each other and members of the chamber and community groups.

More than 100 people spent the sunny afternoon barbequing and taking photos with Peter Rabbit. Children also had the chance to explore Wantagh Fire Department trucks. Members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and Auxiliary Police, as well as Miss Wantagh Emma Carey, took part in the festivities.

The Chamber of Commerce holds community events throughout the year, including the annual holiday tree lighting and Snowball Run in December. The Spring Fun Hunt was another event designed to encourage unity and bring Wantagh together.
