Crime watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Arrests

A 36-year-old Inwood woman was arrested on July 2 at 8:58 p.m. and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, assault, menacing and criminal mischief for an incident that occurred on Duryea Place. She was found to have two open warrants for parole absconder and aggravated unlicensed operation.

On July 3 at 3:10 a.m., an 18-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and criminal contempt at Lynbrook Police Department headquarters for an incident that occurred on Oakland Avenue.

At 6:08 p.m. on July 3, a 24-year-old resident of Bayside, Queens, was arrested and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated on Sunrise Highway.

A 55-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested on July 3 at 9:20 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, no New York state inspection and failure to signal on Scranton Avenue.

An 18-year-old Lynbrook resident was arrested on July 4 at 8:47 a.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana, disobeying a traffic control device, obstructed view and failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of an address change on Peninsula Boulevard.

On July 4 at 4:38 a.m., a 24-year-old Long Beach man was arrested and charged with unlawfully dealing with fireworks, aggravated unlicensed operator and fractured windshield on Sunrise Highway.

At 9:20 a.m. on July 5, a 51-year-old Staten Island man was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on Sunrise Highway.

A 44-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested at 1 a.m. on July 7 and charged with assault on Marion Street.

A 29-year-old Bay Shore man was arrested on July 8 at 3:30 a.m. and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated, passing a steady red traffic signal light and open alcohol container on Bixley Heath.

A 54-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested on Devine Street on July 8 at 9:20 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief.

On July 9 at 8:25 p.m., a 27-year-old Roosevelt man was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operator, circumvention of interlock device, unlicensed operation and no New York state inspection on Sunrise Highway.

Aggravated harassment

An employee of the Lynbrook Diner reported that on June 27 at 11:56 p.m., an unknown suspect called the diner and harassed them. The Lynbrook police were still investigating the incident at press time.

Identity theft

A Wilson Avenue resident reported that on June 30 at 5:33 p.m., an unknown suspect opened an account with DTE Energy in their name and charged more than $300 to it.

Criminal mischief

A Reyam Road resident reported that on July 2 at 6:30 p.m., an unknown suspect damaged the hood of a vehicle while it was parked in a driveway.

Burglary

The office manager of All Island Gastroenterology reports that between July 10 at 2 p.m. and July 12 at 7 a.m., an unknown suspect broke into the business by prying open a rear window, but no losses were reported.

The owner of Farmers Insurance, at 246 Merrick Road, reported that between July 11 at 5 p.m. and July 12 at 9:15 a.m., an unknown suspect entered the business by prying open the rear door.
