Arrests

A 51-year-old of Island Park man was arrested on Feb. 4 at 8:30 p.m. and charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone, oxycodone and THC) and unlawful possession of marijuana on Carpenter Avenue.

On Feb. 5 at 9:46 a.m., a 54-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine) on Horton Avenue.

Following an investigation, a 35-year-old Lynbrook woman was arrested on Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m., and charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance (crack cocaine) and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine).

At 10:10 p.m. on Feb. 5, a 50-year-old man from Jamaica, Queens was arrested and charged with an open Nassau County warrant on Merrick Road.

A 37-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested on Sunrise Highway on Feb. 7 at 8:35 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance (heroin), possession of a hypodermic needle, aggravated unlicensed operator, speeding and two probation violation warrants.

On Feb. 8 at 5:58 p.m., a 30-year-old Westbury man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and speeding on Peninsula Boulevard.

A 31-year-old man from Cambria Heights, Queens, was arrested on Feb. 17 at 9:55 a.m. and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operator, defective brake lights, no inspection, suspended registration, operating without insurance, failure to signal and improper plates on Merrick Road.

At 8:08 p.m. on Feb. 19, a 32-year-old Uniondale resident was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing on Sunrise Highway.

Following an incident in which a computer was damaged at Platinum Tans, at 111 Broadway, a 31-year-old Merrick man was arrested on Feb. 21 at 9:15 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief. Total damage was nearly $150.

A 42-year-old Lawrence man was arrested on Feb. 25 at 2:41 a.m. and charged with criminal trespassing on Evergreen Avenue.

Grand larcenies

The manager of the CVS, at 633 Merrick Road, was reviewing video surveillance footage on Feb. 12 at 1:34 p.m. and discovered that an unknown black man who is about 5-feet-10-inches tall and about 55-years-old who was wearing a black jacket, a black hat and blue jeans entered the store and stole various allergy medications. Total loss was about $1,100.

The manager of Sprint, at 603 Sunrise Highway, was reviewing video surveillance footage on Feb. 19 at 8:10 p.m., and discovered that an unknown black man who is about 5-feet-9-inches tall and 200 pounds, who was wearing a black jacket, gray sneakers and gray pants, entered the store and stole an iPhone XS Max. Total loss was about $1,100.
