On April 11, 2015, Dominick Brusca of Boy Scout Troop 93 in Franklin Square went to Adopt-A-Battalion in Massapequa with some volunteers and delivered 1,020 pocket American flags, toiletries and a check for over $300, to help cover the mailing costs for care packages. The boys then helped pack over 50 boxes full of toiletries and flags, which were sent to active military units in Afghanistan by Adopt-A-Battalion. This was the culmination of Dominick’s Eagle Scout Project entitled “Folding Flags For Our Troops”, which was held on March 20, 2015. With the help of over 150 volunteers on that day, he folded more than one thousand pocket flags, included personal notes with each one, and collected toiletries for the care packages.
