Woodmere residents Debra and Jay Zachter were presented with a Town of Hempstead citation by Councilman Bruce Blakeman for their service to the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach at the school’s annual dinner that was held at the newly renovated Woodmere campus, that was formerly Lawrence School District’s Number Six School.
All three of the Zachter children — Deliana, Talia and Dov— attend HALB, which has a total of 1,675 students, 293 teachers in its four branches, including the first- through eighth-grade school that is now in the Number Six School.
