Jose Santana, of Inwood, was arrested and charged with unlawful surveillance on Aug. 22, after an incident on the same day that occurred at 12:20 p.m. in North Lawrence, Nassau County police said.

Santana, 20, of Ganser Avenue, an employee of KolSave, a kosher supermarket at 11 Lawrence Lane, was helping a woman put groceries in her car, when she said she felt his hand between her legs, according to police. The subsequent investigation by the responding police officers found that Santana had placed his cell phone under the woman’s skirt.

He was arrested without incident. The detectives’ investigation uncovered multiple videos of a similar nature on Santana’s phone. Police believe that the videos were also recorded at the supermarket.

Charged with unlawful surveillance second-degree, Santana will be arraigned on Aug. 23 at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police are asking if anyone who thinks they allegedly might have been a victim of Santana to contact the Fourth Squad at (516) 573-6453 or Nassau County Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-8477. All calls are confidential.
