With 58 percent of the households in the Lawrence School Districts responding to a survey that aimed to gauge comfort with the three proposed academic plans for the coming school year, 39 percent answered that they are very comfortable with remote instruction compared with 28 percent for in-person learning and 23 percent for the hybrid plan that is a combination of remote and in classroom instruction.

Of the people responding to the survey, 68 percent said they will be using busing. In response to the question: Can you transport your child to and from school? 49 percent said yes, 51 percent no.

Because of the cornavirus pandemic, schols across  New York state were shutdown on March 18 and the remainder of the school year was conducted  via  remote learning.

The school district includes, Atlantic Beach, Cedarhurst, Inwood, Meadowmere Park, Lawrence and portins of North Woodmere and Woodmere.
