L.B. teen charged with robbery, assault

Nassau County Police arrested a Long Beach man Friday for robbing and assaulting a bystander.

Treyvon Robertson, 16, of Long Beach, approached a 15-year-old man on California Place around 4:30 p.m. and demanded money, according to a release from Nassau County Police.

The victim handed Robertson an unknown amount of cash, then asked for it back. When the victim tried to retrieve it, Robertson pulled out a folding knife and stabbed him in the chest.

Robertson also cut the victim’s ear and wrist. Police took the victim to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Robertson was charged with robbery, assault in the second degree and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned on Saturday in Nassau County District Court.
