LHS Homecoming: A cause for celebration

The crisp autumn air matched the bright spirits of the fans at Lynbrook High School’s annual PTA Scholarship Football Game, as the Owls defeated Manhasset by a score of 34 to 27.

Quarterback Tom DeNapoli ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead the Owls to their third consecutive victory of the season.

Homecoming King and Queen James Bilello and Marissa Lazar were accompanied in style with a parade led by the High School Marching Band. Cheerleaders and kickline members made a grand entrance atop two Lynbrook fire trucks. Before the start of the game, senior cheerleaders, kickline members and football players and their parents were escorted onto the field to be honored. At halftime, the Varsity Cheerleaders, Varsity Kickline and High School Marching Band wowed the crowd with music, precision footwork and acrobatics.

In a longstanding tradition, money from ticket, food and T-shirt sales will go toward scholarships for graduating seniors.
