Seaford unites to promote anti-bullying

Posted

The Seaford School District and community gathered for its annual Unity Walk on Oct. 20 to promote an anti-bullying campaign and foster kindess, acceptance and inclusion for all.

The Seaford School District, Seaford Community Wellness Council and Seaford Chamber of Commerce, kicked off Unity Week with a trek around the high school track, where families and students came together in solidarity. Bracelets and T-shirts were sold during the week’s festivities to support the district’s anti-bullying efforts. All proceeds were dontated to the wellness council, which supports the school’s programs and events and various community beautification projects.

During the week, students from all four schools took part in various activities and sat in on assemblies presented by “Sweethearts and Heroes.” The motivational speakers help educate society about the impact bullying has on schools, neighborhoods and individuals. According to the group, their unique perspective, action plan (for every member of the bullying cycle) and unmatched ignition to make change are a priority.
