Long Beach High School on lockdown

Long Beach High School was on lockdown after a bomb threat was made on Tuesday, according to Nassau County police.

Police said the incident was reported at 11:46 a.m. as a phone call made to the high school.

Nassau County and Long Beach police were on the scene investigating. No arrests were made.

“All other buildings in the district are operating on a lockout status,” and Long Beach Schools Superintendent David Weiss. “Please be assured that the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority. We are taking all the necessary precautions and everyone is safe. I will communicate any other updates as they become available.”

A representative from the Long Beach School District said that Long Beach High School students were released slightly earlier than normal dismissal time and all other district buildings ended their lockout status with regular dismissal time.
