Malverne students take a stand against childhood cancer

Posted

During Malverne’s Davison Avenue Intermediate School’s annual Back to School BBQ, members of Davison’s Special Forces sought to recognize September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The group set up a lemonade stand and raised $239 through the event. All proceeds went to the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to changing children’s lives through impactful research, raising awareness and supporting families to help cure pediatric cancer. The Special Forces are mentored by Martine Laventure.
