Man killed by LIRR between Freeport and Baldwin

Trains running 94 minutes late

At around 3:45 p.m. an unidentified man was struck by a westbound Long Island Railroad train between Freeport and Baldwin near Brookside Avenue.

The man was killed, a MTA representative confirmed, but no further information on his identity was revealed.

The LIRR was briefly suspended in both directions between Lynbrook and Babylon this afternoon, but has since been restored.

The first eastbound trains departed Penn Station at 5:37 p.m. and Atlantic Terminal at 5:44 p.m. Trains are running 94 minutes behind schedule.
