Relay for Life at Valley Stream South

Valley Stream South is hosting Relay for Life on May 19 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Relay for Life helps the American Cancer Society fund research and raise awareness to fight cancer. Celebrate Lois Ehlert

at the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library

The Henry Waldinger Memorial Library will be celebrating the work of popular children’s author Lois Ehlert on May 20 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Children’s librarian Ms. Kunz will highlight her achievements in children’s literature with games and activities. Registration is required, with preference given to Valley Stream library cardholders.

Patriotic cupcake making at Elmont Memorial Library

Band of brothers

Step back in time and observe a World War II encampment when the grounds of Old Bethpage Village Restoration are transformed into the French countryside during the summer of 1944. Adventures in the Land of Oz

Visit Oz in a charming interactive production inspired by L. Frank Baum’s stories, “Journey to Oz,” at Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City. Audience members are invited to become part of the cast, assisted by the actors, in this lively show, Friday and Saturday, May 19-20.
