LEGO engineering classes

Children in grades 3-6 can learn new LEGO skills and use critical thinking to solve problems and explore the world of engineering at the Elmont Memorial Library on May 24 at 4:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Long Island in the 1960s

Barry Rivadue will be discussing the rapid changes that transformed an earlier landscape of small villages, farms and mansions into the ultimate suburbia at the Elmont Memorial Library on May 25 at 1 p.m.

Book Club meeting

The Valley Stream Book Club will be discussing “My Name is Lucy Barton” by Elizabeth Strout at the Henry Waldinger Library on May 29 at 7 p.m. The book is about Lucy Barton’s slow recovery from what should have been a simple operation. Registration is required at the Adult Reference Desk. A copy of the book will be reserved for you and you will be notified when to pick it up.
