The village held its annual Menorah lighting ceremony on Dec. 12 at Valley Stream Station Plaza. Rabbi Yitzchak Goldshmid of Congregation Beth Shalom joined Mayor Ed Fare in the bucket of a Valley Stream fire truck to light the candle for the first night of the Jewish Festival of Lights, which began that day at sundown.
