The Merrick community came together to celebrate the holiday in spooky style on Oct. 28.
The Merrick Chamber of Commerce held its annual Halloween Parade, beginning at R.S. Jones restaurant, and marching down to the Merrick Gazebo, with businesses along the route joining in the fun and hanging out candy to the trick-or-treaters.
Later in the day, the North and Central Merrick Civic Association brought everyone together at Fraser Park for arts and crafts, entertainment, lots of candy and even a piñata.
Herald photographer Donovan Berthoud was on-hand to capture the fun at both events.
The worldwide pandemic has threatened many of the businesses you rely on every day, but don’t let it take away your source for local news.
