Patrons at the Merrick Public Library on July 30 were treated to an experience straight out of a Harry Potter film or novel, as one of the library’s meeting rooms underwent a startling transformation into a fantastical escape room.
Family and friends worked together by solving puzzles, scouring maps and completing challenges to find a way through Hogwarts professors’ obstacles and save the Sorcerer’s Stone before Voldemort found it to become immortal — all inspired by J.K. Rowling’s blockbuster fantasy franchise.
