Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé, a Democrat from Freeport, secured a Community Revitalization Program, CRP, grant of $40,000 for Freeport Public Schools. The funding was approved during the May 20, Nassau County Legislature meeting and will be given to the district through an inter-municipal agreement.

“Across Nassau County, school athletics programs are a unifying source of pride,” Mulé said. “By enhancing Freeport’s facilities in this manner, I am confident that we can further strengthen the community-building appeal of these events.”

The CRP grant will enable the school district to purchase and install portable bleachers for Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School and a scoreboard for Freeport High School.

“We are thankful to Legislator Mule for making this funding possible,” said Dr. Kishore Kuncham, superintendent of Freeport Public Schools. “And delighted to see these projects come to fruition soon.”
