Three East Rockaway residents and one from Oceanside were arrested for the brutal attack of two males that took place on Majorie Lane in Bay Park on May 28.

Brandon Battaglia, 18, Robert Battaglia, 18, and Avante Lester, 24, all from East Rockaway, and Kristin Milbank, 16, of Oceanside, were arrested. Other suspects involved have not been indentified.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, the attackers encircled two male victims, ages 18 and 19, and sprayed pepper spray into their eyes. They then struck one of the male victims in the head and body with baseball bats and began to punch and kick him before running away.

The victim of the bat attack was transported to a local hospital for treatment after suffering multiple lacerations to the head, concussion symptoms and bruising. The other victim, who was pepper sprayed, refused medical attention at the scene.

Police found the attackers within the vicinity of the incident a short time after it happened and placed them under arrest.

All four were charged with first-degree assault, first-degree gang assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Milbank was given an additional charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and was also charged with possession of noxious material because she had brass knuckles and a knife on her at the time of the arrest.

The defendants were due to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on May 29.
