Ocean currently closed to swimmers

The ocean is currently closed to swimmers due to strong rip currents and large waves, Lifeguard Chief Paul Gillespie said in a statement. The beach remains open, but the water is “too dangerous” for swimming. The Herald will update this story if more information becomes available.
